Keeps you guessingBetween the great characters, the twisted plot that kept you guessing, and the overall storyline I had to give 5 stars! The author did a great job pulling all the minute details together for a surprise but not too unexpected ending。 I wish there was a 3rd book!
Josephine M Moore,
Good book! This was the second book I’ve read by Anne Frazier and it was a wonderful story。 From a camp designed to break the addiction to phones to an intriguing murder mystery, she touched all of the bases for me。 It is well written and flowed beautifully。 I look forward to seeing more of the two main characters Reni and Daniel。 Enjoy!

OkI have been waiting for this sequel for quite some time as I adored her first book about Reni。 This was a good book, not as riveting as the first, but still really good。 I like Daniel and Reni and of course Edward, and I'll definitely keep reading this series。 I thought the mystery left a bit to be desired but I'm invested enough to give it four stars。 OkI have been waiting for this sequel for quite some time as I adored her first book about Reni。 This was a good book, not as riveting as the first, but still really good。 I like Daniel and Reni and of course Edward, and I'll definitely keep reading this series。 I thought the mystery left a bit to be desired but I'm invested enough to give it four stars。 。。。more

The Pacific Coast Trail features prominently in this murder mystery。 Three residents of a program for giving up electronics and their guide are hiking it。 The guide's body is found, while the other three girls are missing。 Two investigators, familiar with the area, look for clues。The story held my interest and kept me reading, but I can't say that I loved it。 The Pacific Coast Trail features prominently in this murder mystery。 Three residents of a program for giving up electronics and their guide are hiking it。 The guide's body is found, while the other three girls are missing。 Two investigators, familiar with the area, look for clues。The story held my interest and kept me reading, but I can't say that I loved it。 。。。more

Second in Inland Empire thriller series, this was a great read。 Mountains, deserts, murder, family issues, budding romance, this book pretty much has what one expects in a thriller。 Plus, there's a lovely little twist that makes it even better。 Second in Inland Empire thriller series, this was a great read。 Mountains, deserts, murder, family issues, budding romance, this book pretty much has what one expects in a thriller。 Plus, there's a lovely little twist that makes it even better。 。。。more

Great next book! We loved this book and enjoyed the characters again so much! It was so crazy to be able to answer some questions about Daniel‘s life, although I assumed him and Reni would fall in love。 The girls from kaleidoscope were so twisted abs gave a great mystery that needed to be solved!

Another exceptional read by Anne Frasier。 Lots of twists and two great main characters。 Reni and Daniel are so enjoyable to follow on an encounters they tackle。 。 This book will require fast page turns and little sleep。 Love the plot。

Reni Fisher is a missing person detective on leave due to the horrific and devastating events she was personally involved in several months ago and has been suffering from traumatic PTSD episodes almost daily and she is now unsure if she will ever be able to return to the work that was her entire life。 Daniel Ellis, also a detective and close friend to Reni keeps tabs on her so she doesn't bury herself in the isolation that she has chosen to retreat into。 When Daniel is presented with a case som Reni Fisher is a missing person detective on leave due to the horrific and devastating events she was personally involved in several months ago and has been suffering from traumatic PTSD episodes almost daily and she is now unsure if she will ever be able to return to the work that was her entire life。 Daniel Ellis, also a detective and close friend to Reni keeps tabs on her so she doesn't bury herself in the isolation that she has chosen to retreat into。 When Daniel is presented with a case somewhere in the mountains where three young hikers have vanished and their guide murdered, the only clue is a mysterious video showing the gruesome scene left behind and the owner of the video nowhere to be found。 Daniel knows Reni Fisher is the only person who can help him since she knows the mountain trails inside and out。 Daniel doesn't have much time to spare and knows this case could help Reni as much as break her but he needs her wilderness expertise as well as her sharp detective skills if there is any chance to find these girls and if they act quickly, hopefully they can bring them home alive。I really enjoyed this mystery/crime thriller written by Anne Frasier。 There are many clever and some surprising twists and turns throughout the story (which I love) that made it hard putting the book aside when I only wanted to keep reading。 The story has a great pacing and momentum where I felt very connected to the characters and cared about what was happening to them as they encountered some very tricky and deadly situations。 A great cast of many characters but written in a style where I remembered who everyone was and I never felt lost within the story。 This is a second book in a series which I didn't realize at the time but this story definitely can be read as a stand-alone without any problems although I can't wait to read the first book "Find Me" to discover the previous history of Reni and Daniel and hopefully there will be a third and fourth book because I am soooo hooked! I highly recommend this descriptive and well-written and atmospheric story to any mystery reader!!I want to thank the publisher "Thomas & Mercer" and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this terrific book and any thoughts and opinions expressed are unbiased and mine alone!I have given this exciting story 4 ATMOSPHERIC AND DRAMATIC 🌟🌟🌟🌟 STARS!! 。。。more

This was one of my most anticipated books this year! I read Find Me earlier this year and have been waiting for my chance to read this。 I’ve never really been a fan of murder mystery thrillers but Anne has changed the game for me。 I was given peace only to be on the edge of my seat twice in this book! Similar the rush I got when reading Find Me。 I can’t wait to read more about Reni and Daniel in the future ❤️

Another fantastic novel! I’ve been waiting for this book, and it did not disappoint。 The focus of this book is very different, as it has less to do with Daniel and Reni’s past and more with a specific case of kidnapping and murder。 The classics are still there- I loved seeing Reni again, using painting as a new coping skill, and Daniel, the ever faithful detective who’s determined to get her out of her shell。 I loved reading about the desert and it’s beauty。 The story was interesting and kept me Another fantastic novel! Thrilling SuspenseWe get more answers for Remi and Daniel。 The book is very suspenseful about 3 missing girls and a couple of murders。 And, in all this, Daniel still searches for his mother's body。 Remi is mentally healing from her family issues。 Book had me on the edge of my seat holding my breath。 Thrilling SuspenseWe get more answers for Remi and Daniel。 The book is very suspenseful about 3 missing girls and a couple of murders。 And, in all this, Daniel still searches for his mother's body。 Remi is mentally healing from her family issues。 Book had me on the edge of my seat holding my breath。 。。。more

Tell Me by Anne Frasier, Book 2 in the In。and Empire Series。This was a thrill ride and when you think it’s over, it isn’t。 A very twisty ending。 Really there is more than one twist。There were just two small annoyances。 One was a character named Lucas Davenport and I wonder if it was a mix up or an homage to the John Sandford series。 Either way it was kind of distracting。 The other thing would be a spoiler to say too much but her medical treatment info was out of date on something that happens to Tell Me by Anne Frasier, Book 2 in the In。and Empire Series。This was a thrill ride and when you think it’s over, it isn’t。 A very twisty ending。 Really there is more than one twist。There were just two small annoyances。 One was a character named Lucas Davenport and I wonder if it was a mix up or an homage to the John Sandford series。 Either way it was kind of distracting。 The other thing would be a spoiler to say too much but her medical treatment info was out of date on something that happens toward the end。Even so, a good thriller that I finished in one day。Thanks to Netgalley。 。。。more

another wonderfully crafted mystery! i binged this (and the first book) within 48 hours。 the biggest thing keeping me hooked (and wanting more books in this series) is the dynamic between the two main characters, daniel and reni。 they just work well together。 anne fraiser has a gift for crafting characters who have been through it and trying to heal as well as a gift for good and intriguing mysteries。 definitely recommend this series (this is the 2nd book)。

Anne Frasier is an auto-buy author, I've yet to be disappointed。 "Find Me" was such an intense book, this one was not quite as intense, but just as engrossing。 The first chapter jumps right into the action, following three teens and a camp counselor hiking the Pacific Crest Trail。 They're at an exclusive (expensive) camp that confiscates cell phones so teens can break their obsessions with social media。 As the parent of two teenage girls this passage made me chuckle: "How weird life must have be Anne Frasier is an auto-buy author, I've yet to be disappointed。 "Find Me" was such an intense book, this one was not quite as intense, but just as engrossing。 The first chapter jumps right into the action, following three teens and a camp counselor hiking the Pacific Crest Trail。 They're at an exclusive (expensive) camp that confiscates cell phones so teens can break their obsessions with social media。 As the parent of two teenage girls this passage made me chuckle: "How weird life must have been before the internet and cell phones。 Emerson couldn’t begin to imagine it。 She knew people who’d lived both kinds of existences。 Her mother, for one。 It must have been awful。"After the teens vanish and the counselor is dead, Daniel needs Reni's help again。 Time is critical and Reni knows the area。 I love their relationship。 Both a little broken, but their friendship seems to be healing for both of them。 Reni is now painting to help her heal with her childhood trauma and awful parents, Daniel has (sort of) moved on from finding out why his mother disappeared。 The case was a good one, with some twists I didn't see coming。 There didn't seem to be any hanging threads at the end, so I assume there aren't any more books in the series, but I'd read more about these characters in a heartbeat。I've never hiked the Pacific Crest Trail or been to the Mojave Desert, but I almost feel as if I have after reading this。 Frasier has a real gift with locations and it's one of the reasons I love her books so much。 。。。more

Tell Me is the second in the Inland Empire series。 I have not read the first book and it made a difference。 Frasier does give us a fair amount of background, but I still felt there were holes in my understanding of both Daniel’s and Reni’s backgrounds, especially at the beginning of the book。 Still, I enjoyed the story。 Three girls and their guide are hiking the Pacific Crest Trail as part of a social media addiction treatment program。 The guide is murdered and the three girls go missing。 A pair Tell Me is the second in the Inland Empire series。 I have not read the first book and it made a difference。 Frasier does give us a fair amount of background, but I still felt there were holes in my understanding of both Daniel’s and Reni’s backgrounds, especially at the beginning of the book。 Still, I enjoyed the story。 Three girls and their guide are hiking the Pacific Crest Trail as part of a social media addiction treatment program。 The guide is murdered and the three girls go missing。 A pair of hikers stumble on the camp, take pictures of the dead body and upload the video to social media。 A bit of irony, mais oui? Then they go missing。 I connected with both of the main characters。 They both have emotional baggage but are smart and committed and finding ways to deal with their own issues that don’t involve alcohol or drugs。 Of course, it helps that Reni is a dog parent, even though Edward isn’t a big factor in the storyline。 The story was nicely complex with lots of moving parts。 The pace was Goldilocks right, not too slow, not too fast。 I was really impressed by the ending and all the twists at the end。 There’s a great sense of place。 Of course, after reading the Author’s Note, it made perfect sense as because of the pandemic she changed the location of the story to her own backyard。 And after this book, I have a much better appreciation for how bad the Santa Ana winds are。 I fully intend to follow this series going forward。 My thanks to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for an advance copy of this book。 。。。more

similar to its predecessor, this sequel is relatively short and im still impressed with how AF manages to completely fill each page。 this is a very complete installment that picks up where ‘find me’ leaves off。 while this technically could be read as a standalone, i would recommend reading the first book to truly understand the characters and their backgrounds。 there is some development regarding character histories, so having that prior knowledge would be beneficial。 and although i enjoyed the similar to its predecessor, this sequel is relatively short and im still impressed with how AF manages to completely fill each page。 this is a very complete installment that picks up where ‘find me’ leaves off。 while this technically could be read as a standalone, i would recommend reading the first book to truly understand the characters and their backgrounds。 there is some development regarding character histories, so having that prior knowledge would be beneficial。 and although i enjoyed the pacing and character stories, i cant help but feel a little let down with the way certain events unfold。 its a bit too simplistic for my liking。 while i think the straightforward narrative worked for the content of the first book, i think it actually gives away too much of the mystery too soon for this particular story。 but overall, a quick and entertaining investigation。thanks thomas & mercer for the ARC。↠ 3 stars 。。。more
